FISHING CONSULTING AND GUIDING

At Hoffman Consulting, we spend a lot of time working with businesses and organizations to make their operations safe. When it’s time to take a break and have some fun, however, Alaska’s flowing streams and rivers provide an experience that’s unmatched throughout the rest of the world.

As a lifelong fly fisherman, Daniel can answer nearly all questions that the prospective angler will have when planning their trip to Alaska.  Where can you fish? What will be in season? What are the best methods?  As a longtime Alaskan resident, Dan has fished extensively in Interior Alaska, the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, throughout the Kenai Peninsula, as well as fishing and guiding in Southwest Alaska’s Katmai and Bristol Bay drainages.

Daniel’s recent book, An Alaska Flyfisher’s Odyssey: Seeking a Life of Drag-Free Drift in the Land of the Midnight Sun is a must-read for anyone who dreams of fly fishing in Alaska, and who wonders what it’s like to live year-around in the Interior as a diehard flyfisher. For those interested in ordering Dan’s book, and perhaps even utilizing his guiding expertise while visiting Fairbanks, a special is being offered in preparation for next year’s fishing season:

1.) Purchase your copy of An Alaska Flyfisher’s Odyssey from a local bookstore, or order directly from Farcountry Press: https://www.farcountrypress.com/details.php?id=956

2.) Take a “selfie” holding your copy of the book

3.) Email your photo to [email protected] along with your contact information, including the date(s) that you plan on visiting Fairbanks and being available for fishing.
Dan will collect all received entries through May 15th of next year. One entrant shall be drawn for those planning to visit Fairbanks between June 1 and July 15th, with a second entrant being drawn for those visiting between July 16th to August 30th. Both selected entrants will receive a full day’s guided excursion on the date of their scheduled visit.
